Despite COVID, TIA is planning a River Clean Up on more than one day with a focus on the Ivy Lea and Rockport areas as well as the Admiralty, Lake Fleet and Navy Island Groups. The plan is to coordinate with Save the River clean up days to ensure that OUR river is attended from both sides. Watch for more information in March as to drop off sites and exact dates.
In the planning stage too are potential on line activities that families can do at home. Ideas range from building a nest, maybe for a turtle or a bird, to showing on social media platforms how to identify an invasive plant accompanied by a platform of how to find and safely remove it. Again, more information will be coming as TIA fine tunes and expands on ideas coming our way.
Information you can expect to see in the coming months is how to safely dispose of bilge water, an update on expired flares and a lively discussion of weeds, the good ones and the not so good.
Coming soon is information about wildlife, those at risk and those returning.
